Position Summary:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving monthly sales and collection targets within the assigned territory through effective coordination with the Regional Sales Head, appointment and management of dealers at district and taluka levels, and consistent development of dealer business. The role involves active field-level engagement to support retail sales, execution of product demonstrations and promotional activities, participation in exhibitions and roadshows, and close coordination with Head Office to ensure timely billing, dispatch, and availability of spares. Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Tamil Nadu (North & West)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure daily collection of payments from dealers and billing of products in line with approved plans.
  2. Identify, appoint, and develop dealers at District and Taluka levels as per company guidelines.
  3. Maintain and enhance dealer business on a month-on-month basis.
  4. Achieve assigned sales and collection targets within the stipulated timelines.
  5. Coordinate with Head Office for billing processes and ensure timely delivery of materials to dealers.
  6. Communicate spares availability and support spares billing for the sales and service teams.
  7. Provide regular updates to dealers regarding dispatched materials and delivery status.
  8. Plan, organize, and conduct product demonstrations and promotional activities in coordination with dealers.
  9. Record, monitor, and follow up on promotional activities and convert leads into sales.
  10. Participate in exhibitions, expos, roadshows, and similar events as and when required.
  11. Develop and maintain professional relationships with officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agricultural Engineering Departments to facilitate dealer allotments.
  12. Work closely with dealers at the field level to support and improve retail sales performance.
  13. Prepare and submit regular reports on collections, sales forecasts, and other mandatory MIS reports.
  14. Perform additional duties and handle emergency assignments as required by business exigencies.

Competencies and Skills

  • Strong capability in order collection and payment recovery from dealers.
  • Sound knowledge of the local market at the Taluka level.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • High level of field orientation with willingness to travel extensively.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Candidates with lower qualifications may be considered based on relevant industry experience.

Experience and Other Requirements

  • 5 to 6 years of total work experience.
  • Experience in agriculture-related or allied industries is mandatory.
  • Candidates from the Weeder industry will be preferred.
  • Ability to join within a short notice period.

  • Must possess a two-wheeler (motorbike) with a valid driving license.
